Player upgrade method and specifications

There are many cards whose abilities change depending on the performance of players in TOTW and OTW. As TOTW is released every week, it is interesting to see how players are upgraded.

We will introduce the upgrade conditions, methods, and dates on which the upgrades will be updated.

Player upgrades

The upgrade method will vary depending on the player's rating and card type.

We will explain each of the cards that are eligible for upgrades.

TOTW (Team of the Week)

The best players of the week will be added every Thursday at 2:00 (3:00 in summer time). They will be released with upgraded abilities from regular gold cards.

Here's how to upgrade. Players with low ratings will see their ratings rise dramatically.

The following describes the specifications for the upgrade.

As mentioned above, if a player who has been released in TOTW is selected again in a different week, he will be released with a rating that is one level upgraded from the TOTW card rating.

Additionally, one Featured TOTW player will be selected from the upgraded players whose original rating is under 80. TOTW cards selected for the Featured TOTW will be marked with a star and may be upgraded by two or three levels, or may have an upgrade to their weak foot or skill.

Upgrade update date: Every Thursday at 2am (3am during daylight saving time)

OTW (Ones To Watch)

These cards are selected from players transferred last year and can be upgraded through real-life match wins (3 wins in 8 matches since the start of the draw) or TOTW selections.

Cards with 3 wins will be permanently upgraded one level, so they will always be one level upgraded from the highest rated card (gold or TOTW).

Upgrade update date: Every Thursday at 2am (3am during daylight saving time)

RTTK (Road To The Knockout)

This card can be upgraded by up to +2 levels if you advance through the UEFA Champions League group stage or win two out of the first three matches.

Upgrade update date: 2nd win every Friday, GS breakthrough players all at once on November 5th
